For those of you new to us – and the blog
– we thought you might like to know who we are and how we got here…
The Building – Number 11
A beautiful 200 year old Cornish
town house in the centre of Padstow, Cornwall. The artist David Pearce
discovered it at the end of 2006 and despite the irregular walls, uneven floors
and worrying damp patches, he bought it. It has been sympathetically restored
to create a classic gallery space retaining all the character of the original building.
David opened the gallery in 2007, we
like to think it's warm and inviting with a serious edge.
The Owner – David Pearce
Artist and Owner/Director of Padstow
Fine Art, David Pearce works in the landscape tradition of Modern British Painting.
His early work has a playful quality - bright and naïve paintings depicting the
local scenes. This era of work adorns the walls (and menus) of Rick Stein's
restaurants, St Enodoc Hotel and for many are the memories of holidaying in
Padstow.

His work has been shown
internationally since 1998, with great success at New York’s ‘Outsider’ Art
Fair and recently at Milwaukee Art Museum USA.
David has recently designed and completed a retreat in Portugal where he shares part of the year with his partner, the artist Stephanie Richards.

David has invited a select few artists to join him. Artists you’ll often find

The Manager - Sharon
Started with the gallery in summer 2012,
Sharon looks after the gallery day to day. Her background and passion is in
Fine Art Woven Textiles, but her professional career took her into art
consultancy and art lecturing. Working with us at the gallery has enabled her
to return to her own art practice. Sharon says she loves all the work at the
gallery and as a textile artist she has a particular affinity with the surfaces
created in Paul Fry’s paintings.
We’d love to see you at the gallery
